About Therapy

My Approach

My orientation is Integrative meaning that I have understandings of an array of therapeutic modalities and techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Mindfulness, Person-Centred Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.

An Integrative approach embraces the relational dimension between client and therapist, viewing this as the vehicle for change and transformation in the therapeutic work. As a therapist, this means that I will bring my full participation, emotional presence, and genuine self to our encounter, providing a warm, safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment in which you can process difficult thoughts and feelings in our mutually shared space.

As each person is unique, I imbue a flexible style that takes into account: you as an individual, your circumstances and your social world. Informed by your life context, I use the elements of different approaches holistically so that I can help you explore and cope with your problems. Our collaboration would aim to provide more coherent and meaningful understandings of yourself so that you can achieve growth, fulfilment and healing to better serve you in your future.

The Start of Therapy

People seek therapeutic support for different reasons. It may be that you are wanting to address a specific problem, speak about past and present relationships, understand and connect with yourself at a deeper level, are feeling stuck and disappointed, would like to heal from traumatic experiences or are searching for meaning and purpose in your life.

In looking for a therapist, you have already taken the first step! Next, I encourage you to book an initial appointment where we can explore topics such as: what brought you to seek therapy, issues or difficulties that you are encountering, what you hope to achieve from therapy, how you feel therapy might work for you and whether you feel I am the right Therapist for you.

Please feel free to contact me via the contact form, email, or telephone if you would like a free 10-15 minute phone consultation prior to booking an initial appointment. If you decide to continue therapy with me, we would create an outline of your goals for therapy and discuss our contractual terms and conditions.
